The
Sons of Union Veterans
of the Civil War was a creation of the Grand Army of the Republic (GAR)
which was formed in 1866. The SUVCW was formed
September 12, 1881 and was chartered by the U. S. Congress on August 20
1954. We remain a Patriotic, Educational and Historic organization with
the sole purpose of honoring and remembering the Union Soldiers,
Sailors and Marines that preserved the Union of the United States of
America.
