Special Order Number 02-2005

This Special Order is written in conformity with Department of Ohio, Sons Of Union Veterans Of The Civil War By-Laws, Article 2, Section 5, and as recently amended.

1. The Special Meeting of the Department of Ohio, Sons Of Union Veterans Of The Civil War, earlier scheduled at the Red Brick Tavern in Lafayette, Ohio on Saturday, October 1, 2005 at 11:30 A.M., for the sole purpose of addressing several proposed changes to the existing By-Laws of the Order and as delineated in Special Order 01-2005 is hereby
canceled for purposes of allowing further time to deal with certain drafting issues.


2. The Department Council Meeting earlier scheduled in Special Order 01-2005 will proceed as planned at the Red Brick Tavern in Lafayette, Ohio on October 1, 2005. The doors open at 11:30A.M. Lunch will be served from 11:30 A.M. until 1:00 P.M., with everyone being responsible for their own lunch. The Department Council Meeting will follow lunch. Every member of the Department is welcome to attend this meeting.


3. A Special Meeting of the Department of Ohio, Sons Of Union Veterans Of The Civil War will take place at 9:00 A.M. on Saturday, January 14, 2006, and immediately prior to the Department of Ohio Mid-Winter Meeting to be held in Veterans Memorial in Columbus, Ohio. The purpose of the Special Meeting is to address several proposed changes to the existing By-Laws of the Order. Every member of the Department is encouraged to attend. Since the Special Meeting is one where voting will take place, all members of the Department must be in possession of a paid up dues card. Immediately following the Special Meeting, the Department of Ohio Mid-Winter Meeting will commence and every member of the Department is encouraged to attend this meeting as well.


4. The exact wording of the proposed changes to the Department by-Laws will be provided at the Department Council Meeting on October 1, 2005.
