It is with regret that I inform you of
the passing of two time Past Department Commander Ralph E. Shadel, on Tuesday,
March 17, 2009. Brother Shadel was a 47 year member of McLaughlin Camp #12,
Mansfield, Ohio. He was very active in the SUVCW, at both the camp & dept.
levels. He was twice elected Ohio Department Commander, in 1972 and 1983. The
Department of Ohio wishes to pass on its condolences to the family of PDC
Ralph Shadel, Jr.
The Department of Ohio and all camps are hereby ordered to drape their
charters for a period of 30 days from the date of this Department Order. The
Department web site will be draped for the same period of time.
